Before you order: product, delivery and warranty checks

A clear purchase record connects the piece you choose with its specifications, condition, price and agreed services. Use this checklist to prepare a furniture, lighting or decor enquiry. It is general buying guidance, not a new DESROCH delivery promise, commercial warranty or returns policy.

Identify the exact piece and its maker

Record the catalogue SKU, selected size, finish and configuration. Ask for the product label or manufacturer documentation when brand identity matters. A retailer name, supplier filename or collection title is not by itself proof of the product's brand. A visually similar item elsewhere is not a reliable substitute for an exact model match. UAE consumer-protection rules address accurate product information and misleading statements about origin, producer and trademarks.

Confirm the condition of the actual item

Ask whether the supplied piece is new, used, refurbished or a display item, and request current photographs and details of any wear or disclosed defect where relevant. An old stock quantity or a styled photograph does not establish present condition. Article 7 of the UAE consumer-protection Executive Regulations requires used or refurbished condition to be clearly disclosed and recorded in the contract or invoice. A display-item label alone does not establish a universal warranty or return exclusion.

Build a category-specific specification list

For furniture, record the assembled and packaged dimensions and check the access route. For lighting, request the model's installation instructions, electrical specification and fixing requirements; involve a qualified installer where needed. For decor and art, clarify the material, overall dimensions, mounting and what is included. Preserve the supplier's units and ask about contradictory descriptions rather than converting an ambiguous number. The Executive Regulations distinguish product information from the instructions needed for its safe installation and use.

Separate a delivery estimate from an agreed arrangement

Put the destination, product quantity, access restrictions and requested date in the enquiry. Ask which party handles transport, unloading, assembly and installation, and which costs are included. Distinguish dispatch from arrival, and an estimate from a confirmed commitment. Do not apply a historical spreadsheet lead time to every item or location. The UAE Executive Regulations list delivery or service date among the invoice details; they do not establish a universal DESROCH delivery zone, fee or lead time.

Request the applicable warranty document

Check who provides the warranty, which model it covers, its duration and start date, covered parts, repair or replacement arrangements, customer obligations and any exclusions. Articles 11 and 12 of the Executive Regulations address documentary support for advertised warranties and the information they should contain. Do not transfer another maker's warranty to a similar-looking item. A commercial warranty is separate from mandatory consumer rights; this checklist does not assign a catalogue-wide warranty period.

Distinguish change-of-mind returns from defects

Ask for the applicable return or cancellation terms before purchase, including any terms for a customer-specified commission. Keep these separate from remedies for defective or misdescribed goods. Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 addresses remedies for flaws and prohibits terms that exempt a provider from statutory obligations; the Executive Regulations add conditions and procedures. Do not treat a store's voluntary return window or a request for prompt damage reporting as the complete statement of your legal rights. For a particular dispute, consult the competent consumer-protection authority or a qualified adviser.

Keep the agreed documents together

Retain the quotation, selected SKU and configuration, invoice, written service arrangements, warranty and relevant photographs or correspondence. UAE guidance identifies supplier identity and product, payment and warranty information as important e-commerce disclosures, including Arabic-language requirements. The linked English legislation notes that the original Arabic text prevails. These sources explain general obligations; they do not certify a particular product, DESROCH's legal entity or the completeness of an individual transaction.
